Markham Grange Steam Museum is conveniently situated, just off the A1 and A1(M) (Jn. 38) between Wakefield and Doncaster in South Yorkshire.
From the north, A1:
Leave the A1 (Jn. 38 A1M) and join the A638 towards Doncaster. After about 1/2 mile, turn right onto Ridge Balk Lane - signposted Markham Grange (next to 40 MPH sign!!! ).
Follow this road, which leads onto Long Lands Lane, for about 3/4 mile. Look for a phone mast, which is at the entrance on the left.
From the south, A1(M):
Leave the A1(M) at Jn. 38 and turn immediately left towards Brodsworth. You will come to a four road junction, with a phone mast and substation on the corner, turn left here onto Long Lands Lane, over the motorway and the entrance is immediately on the right.
From Doncaster, A638:
Follow the A638, through Woodlands, passing the shops on the right. At the coss-road traffic lights continue straight on and then, after about 100 metres, turn left onto Ridge Balk Lane - signposted Markham Grange (next to 50 MPH sign!!! ).
Follow this road, which leads onto Long Lands Lane, for about 3/4 mile. Look for a phone mast, which is at the entrance on the left.
The Steam Museum is in the large building at the far end of the Garden Centre car park.
